With the many problems experienced by the Alamogordo Public Schools because of negligent decision-making, are they really going to stick a finger in the community’s eye by not searching for a superintendent? Could very well be!
This move is outrageous and inexcusable. The APS is in dire need of a person who has integrity and managerial skills to pull the school system out of the ditch the School Board has led us into and allowed. Judy Rabon, who unseated Angie Cadwallader in a “coup”, is the current President of the School Board and has remained so since that time. No elections have been held as required by policy but that is another story.
The District Office and all of the Deputy Superintendents, specifically Colleen Tagle and the previous Supt Ken More have wreaked havoc on the operation of the schools, wasted more money than you know, and intimidated teachers and employees alike. The Acting Superintendent, Pam Renteria, has not shown any ability of informed or wise decision-making at this point.
We deserve better! Meeting tonight at 6p in the School Board meeting room. Y’all come and make your voices heard.
